The Animation Courtyard is home to three shows
really. The first being the Voyage of the Little Mermaid which is
a mixture of theater effects, film, and puppets. Next is Play House
Disney Live on Stage! This show is really geared toward the younger
set and is almost the same as the Anaheim version. Last is the Magic
of Disney Animation. The best way to describe this attraction now is its a brief show about Disney Characters/Animation (the Drawn to Animation show that used to be at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim) then a large area for meet and greets and some activities.
Mickey Ave:
Mickey Avenue consists of two stops. The first is the One Man Dream exhibit which includes some great
displays and a great film on Walt Disney (same film as DCA has).
This attraction opened to celebrate what would have been Walt's
100th birthday and has stayed open since the celebration and for
any history buff or disneygeek its a must see. Also for Disneyland
fans you can see Walts office that used to be in the Opera House
and Disney says its supposed to be returned some day to its home
in Anaheim. The second is a 15 minute continous show on Journey Into Narnia: Price Caspian which features some props from the film and info about the film.
My old review from the 90s-2004:
Here is where you can watch Disney animators at work on the next
Disney classic, One of my favorite attractions at WDW is the Magic
of Disney Animation exhibit. This is the building where Disney animators
are at work (Weekdays and working hours only remember). The show
that accompanies the tour is by Robin Williams and Walter Cronkite
and its hilarious. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is really
good too. The only problem with this show is the queue. It is outside
and the pack you in extremely tight. If the line is not too bad,
like a one show wait it is a great place to sit for a while and
relax while being entertained.
