The Presidio, San Francisco (June 23, 2011) – Flubber is back! Professor Ned Brainard and his clever creation come to life on the big screen at the Walt Disney Family Museum in August to showcase the 1961 classic. Spend an entire day with veteran Disney director/writer John Musker, as he screens his own works and teaches animation classes exclusively at the museum. It’s time to find your inner Walt – on the big screen of our state-of-the-art digital theater or in one of our many fun-filled classes!

The Animator’s Art: Youth Workshop
In Partnership with The San Francisco Film Society
10:00am–12:00pm I  Learning Center Media Studio
Join Disney Animator, John Musker, and Museum staff for a unique exploration of animation character design and flipbook art. Musker will draw some of his favorite characters and show how it only takes a basic shape to bring a drawing to life. Students will create their own flipbook character and share their work with John at the end of the event. All materials provided. Presented in collaboration with the Pacific Film Archive, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, and in partnership with The Walt Disney Family Museum.

The Animator’s Art: Master Class
In Partnership with The San Francisco Film Society
5:00–6:30pm
John Musker will explore his process of taking ideas from printed page to pixels, with lessons learned from the many artists he’s worked with during the past 34 years. Purchase master class and a 7:00pm screening of John’s animated film for an additional $5. Presented in collaboration with the Pacific Film Archive with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and in partnership with The Walt Disney Family Museum.

A Screening of John Musker’s Animated Works

We will screen the work of veteran writer/director of Disney animated features, John Musker. Presented in collaboration with the Pacific Film Archive with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and in partnership with The Walt Disney Family Museum.

This intermediate class by Disney voice-over artist, Ned Lott, is a follow-up course to our  introductory workshop.
