River Country was the original Disney Waterpark, it opened in the 1970s. It did not have the modern slides, amenties, etc.. of a large scale water park, Disney actually pitched it as the Good Ole Swimmin Hole for a while.
Here are my original thoughts from 2000:
River Country really disappointed me. I guess
it is because I had gone to Typhoon Lagoon several times before
going here. There just didn't seem like there was that much to do.
Also I did not care for swimming in the Lake water. If you are looking
for a much less crowded water park then River Country is your park.
