Trip Log:
The check in was in the Esplanade and then everyone queued up to head in on the far left (West) entrance turnstyles. We were let in about 15 minutes before the events start time and everyone made their way down to the hub in front of the Castle which had a D23 banner on it. An announcement was played, Walt read Disneylands dedication speech, then some fireworks from the castle to mark the start of the event. The invited VIP guests and D23 CMs lined the bridge and everyone was let into Fantasyland. You had a chance to shake hands and be welcomed by the CMs and VIPs. Once in Fantasyland we roamed around a bit and wandered out near Casey Jr to grab some desserts and a table at the outdoor seating area of the Village Haus. After eating walked through Fantasyland checking out some of the characters and VIPs out for pictures and to chat. Worked our way out to Small World Mall which had some vechicles out and more photo ops. Made it out to Small World then circled back. Decided to head out to the hub and into Tomorrowland to check out Captain EOs area. It was great to walk around the Hub and into Tomorrowland with very few people around! Took some pictures then circled back to the hub and through the Castle. Decided to go for a ride on Peter Pan since it was only a 5 minute wait. After Peter Pan circled Fantasyland again and the Small World Mall one more time. Turned around at Small World and made one last pass through Fantasyland and the Castle before heading down Main Street and out of the park. As you exited they handed out Anniversary pins to everyone. Walked through a deserted esplanade and thenout to Harbor and back to the hotel to call it a night.
No pedometer readings from today since I goofed and forgot to record the values before midnight when it reset...
For Comparisons to other trips or more park miles click
here to visit our park Miles Section.
Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd
when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions,
and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted.
The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a
step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may
be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps
may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between
trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled. |
