Park Miles:

On this page we are going to keep track of themepark miles that we walk, some distances between places, and distances traveled by others.

Note: These totals may be skewed because the pedometer is zero'd when we start and then left alone and read when we leave. So attractions, and other things may cause extra "steps" to be counted. The pedometer that we use basically measures up/down motion as a step, so if your standing in line and moving up and down it may be counting steps, etc.. so the total distances traveled and steps may be off.. so use these as rough distance comparisons between trips and they may not be accurate in terms of actual distance traveled.

07/23/10 8.9 23,652 9 Started off this comfortable summer afternoon with a decent parking spot in the garage and a slow tram ride to the parks. Strolled into DCA first and walked through Condor Flats and around GRR to reach the Pier. High School Musical was being performed on the Palisades Stage (the one in the new Paradise Park) today, so caught a little of the show before continuing on past the Zephyr and Swings on my way to the Fun Wheel. The line was way too long (almost all the way up the exit) so I kept on walking around the Pier and then through the Wharf and farm area on my way into Bugsland. Made the circle there and then decided to head to Downtown Disney to check out the Action Sports demos. Walked through them and then out to the Disneyland Hotel to see how the rennovation is moving along. Wandered around the grounds for a while then doubled back to Downtown Disney and hopped on the monorail. Was ushered into the rear cab, a lucky feat, and headed for Disneyland. Walked around the Matterhorn and through Fantasyland and the Big Thunder Trail on my way to NOS. Walked through NOS, checking out the longer than I had patience for lines for Pirates, the Railroad, and Haunted Mansion so I walked back through Adventureland to Main Street. Spent some time visiting the shops and then went in to see Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. After the show made my way back up Main Street and into Frontierland to watch the Billys. After their set wandered around the Castle, Fatnasyland and the into Tomorrowland by way of the walkway near the subs/Matterhorn due to the Street Partty going on. Spent some time in Tomorrowland before heading back to the Castle to catch the 4:20 set of the College Band. After their set some of our group wanted chicken from the Plaza Inn so we stopped then caught the 5:10 Flag Retreat before going back to DCA and Taste Pilots for the rest of the groups dinner. After eating walked out to the Pier and went for a spin on the Fun Wheel (about a 15 min wait). Once back on the ground finished the loop of the Pier and headed for Disneyland and the 7:00pm College Band set at Plaza Gardens. After their set wandered back to DCA, walked through Bugsland again and then out to the Pier to find a spot for World of Color. Watched the show from the backside and then joined the masses heading for the exit as the Disneyland fireworks were going off. Had no real probablems getting onto a tram and headed for the car and home.

07/17/10 7.1 18,775 14.5 We arrived at the Mickey and Friends garage just after 7:30am and were lucky enough to make it in the first row on Daisy. Hoppped on a tram and headed for the parks. Arrived at Disneyland right about 8am when it opened. Once we stepped onto Main Street we were greeted by quite a few CMs lining the street and high fiving/I mean fouring you. We made our way down to the AP processing center because one of the retiredgeeks passes had a problem and needed to get fixed (when they upgraded to their Premiere passes there names/pictures got switched). After that 20 minute delay we strolled into Fantasyland. Went on Dumbo with no wait at all and caught Pinochio too before heading over to DCA. Lined up just before 9am and was about a dozen people back in our line. They let us in at 9:30 to get World of Color Fastpasses (got the blue section for the 9pm show) and then waited for the rope drop in the Bay Area. At 10am when the park opened followed the masses out to the Pier and went for a spin on Toy Story then the Fun Wheel. The swings were down so skipped them and went on the Zephyr. Wandered down the parade route and did a quick tour of the Backlot before heading over to Taste Pilots for lunch (it was just after 11am). After our quick lunch it was back to Disneyland and time to find a spot for the redidcation ceremony that started at noon. It was 11:30 and finding a good spot was a challenge due to the large crowd already gathered. Watched the ceremony from near the flag pole and then wandered down Main Street. Found a shady spot for a few minutes then queued up to for the 1:30 College Band reunion show around 1:00pm. After the show made our way Down Main Street and stopped by the Cinema to check out the new footage (which was great!) and get some A/C. Next up a 2:30 march down Main Street by the College Band and the reunion band. After their march had the opportunity to talk to some members of the groups in Toontown. After talking with them made our way down to Town Square for the 4:15 Happy Birthday moment. Which also included a finale marked with a large dance number that featured tons of characters and a lot of cast members. After this hung around Main Street for the 5:10 Flag Retreat and then wandered down the street to Plaza Inn for dinner. After dinner caught a couple of the College Band stops for the pre-parade and the Voluntears Cavalcade before making our way over to DCA. Watched some of Glow Fest and then walked through Bugs Land (went for a spin on Fliks Flyers) before heading out to the Pier to queue up for World of Color. Joined the mass waiting to get into the viewing around just after 7:00pm. At 7:30 they let us in and found a decent spot for the show. Camped out for the next 90 minutes waiting... watched the show and then headed for the tram, car, and home (after a brief peek into Glow Fest on the way out).

07/02/10 8.0 21,260 9.5 Started this great summer afternoon parking in the garage and heading to the parks via the tram. Arrived at the Esplanade and entered DCA first. Wandered through Condor Flats and around GRR on my way to Paradise Park. Took some pictures of the Little Mermaid progress (quite a bit in only a week) and then went for a spin on the Zephyr since it was actually running. Walked around MM and past Burger Invasion, the Pizza place, and the Swings on my way toward the Fun Wheel. Went for a spin and then continued on around the Pier. Walked through the Wharf area and did a circle through Fliks before going over to Disneyland. Strolled down Main Street and around the hub. Walked into Tomorrowland and hopped on the Monorail for a quick round trip ride. Then doubled back to Plaza Gardens to see if the College Band was performing, they were not (seems this year Friday has a new schedule). Since Next strolled into Adventureland and through New Orleans Square. Stopped by the Haunted Mansion since it looked to be a near walk on (due to a temporary closure it was about a 10 minute delay), and then walked out to Critter Country. Walked on Pooh (the Country Bear heads are still inside) and doubled back along the Rivers of America and into Frontierland. Watched the Billys and then continued on around the Big Thunder trail and through Fantasyland on my way to Toontown. Circled Toontown and then stopped by the Princess Faire for the Coronation Ceremony. Walked back to the Castle to catch the College Band and then over to Tomorrowland to visit Innoventions. Checked out the new Honda exhibits and headed for Town Square to see the Flag Retreat. After the ceremony it was over ot DCA and dinner at (you guessed it) Taste Pilots. Strolled out to the Pier by way of GRR after dinner. Walked around checking out the Little Mermaid building a bit and then some fountain testing for World of Color before going back to Disneyland. Stopped by the Opera House to watch Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. Exited the show right into the Street Party, so hung out near the flag pole and watched the party then made my way over to Tomorrowland to catch the kick off of the evenings festivities at the Tommorrowland Terrace. Left part way into the first song and headed for Plaza Gardens to listen to the Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party featuring the College Band this evening. After their set made my way down Main Street and over to DCA. Wandered down the Backlot and around near the Hyperion. Stopped at the Animation Building and then walked back to the Sun Plaza to watch the Glow Fest transition to the Backlot. Spent some time roaming around Glow Fest and then headed back to Disneyland to find a spot for the fireworks. Watched the Fourth of July show and then headed for the tram, car, and home.

06/25/10 6.1 16,236 6 Started off this abreviated trip to the Disneyland Resort arriving later than usual. First stop was DCA. We wandered out to the Pier and around to the Fun Wheel. Went for a spin and then finished the loop of the Pier and headed by GRR. They were still distributing Fastpasses for World of Color so grabbed one then continued on to Disneyland. Arrived on Main Street a couple of minutes before the Flag Retreat for found a spot and watched the ceremony. Afterwards wandered down Main Street. Stopped by the Plaza Inn and some of the group ate some chicken. I continued on to Tomorrowland, grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz and then walked around the Tomorrowland Terrace since it has finally reopened. Then strolled by the Sub Lagoon/Matterhorn on my way to Fantasyland. Walked by the Castle, Plaza Gardens, and into Frontierland. Circled around by Pirates and then through Adventureland to get back to Main Street. Waited around a bit to see if the College Band was doing the pre-parade, we never saw them, but did catch the Muppets (the Volunteers Cavalcade) before going back to DCA. I grabbed a burger from Taste Pilots the we watched a little of the Glow Fest show to see how it is evolving before heading down the backlot. We did a double dose of Monsters Inc (the Lazygeeks son loves the ride) before heading out to the Pier to find a spot for World of Color. This time we watched from near the Jumpin Jellyfish. After the show joined the masses and walked down the parade route to the exit. Hopped on a tram and hiked to the car before heading home.

06/18/10 8.1 21,494 9 Started off this great summer afternoon parked on the roof of the Mickey and Friends garage in the far corner. Hiked to the tram stop and walked right onto a tram (then had to wait for a good 5 minutes for some reason). Finally arrived at the parks and headed for DCA. Wandered through Condor Flats and over to GRR to see about a Fastpass for World of Color. Took one which ended up being for the third show of the evening. Continued on out to the Pier and took a look a the Little Mermaid construction then headed up past Ariels and the new Photo Op location. Worked our way around past Toy Story and ended up going on the Fun Wheel. Went for a spin and then continued on around the Pier. Reached the Zephyr and as is the norm for me it was closed so kept on walked and headed down the Parade route and toward Disneyland. Roamed down Main Street and noticed a sign near Carnation that looked familiar. Went over to investigate and the College Band was going to be performing. Listened to their set at Carnation and then headed for Tomorrowland. Walked around the Terrace and then the Matterhorn on my way to Toontown. Made the circle then came back through Fantasyland, around the Big Thunder trail and along the Rivers of America. Turned at Pirates and walked through Adventureland and over to Plaza in to meet up with some of my group that was grabbing a bite to each. After they finished eating wandered around the Hub and the Castle area (walked through the Castle) and then watched the 4:20 College Band set. Had 20 minutes or so walked briskly out to Downtown Disney to check out the new RideMakerz store then back to catch the 5:10 Flat Retreat featuring the College Band. After the ceremony walked over to DCA and grabbed some dinner for myself at Taste Pilots. After eating had some time to kill so stopped by the Blue Sky Cellar then headed back to the Sunshine Plaza to watch the kickoff to Glow Fest. At 7:00pm walked back to Disneyland to watch the last College Band set of the evening at the Train Station. After the set it was back to DCA to watch the transition of Glow Fest to the Backlot at 8:15. Then headed out to the Pier to find a spot for World of Color. Ended up hiking all the way around to the new swings area and found a spot in the second row to stand there. Watched the Carnival of Color followed by the World of Color from there. Then joined the masses exiting Paradise Park and headed for the Sunshine Plaza. Turned down the backlot and made a loop of the area to check out the Glow Fest area after dark. Then headed for the trams. Made it to the Golden Gate bridge just as the Magical Finale was going off. Hiked out to the trams and saw nothing was moving so continued on to the car by foot and then headed for home.

06/11/10 9.9 26,176 15.5 Started off the morning with a 6am wake up call. Packed up our bags and dropped them off in the car, checked out of the hotel and was on my way to DCA by 6:30. Checked in at the Esplanade and made my way out to the Blue Sky Cellar to check out the new exhibits. Had a private tour (since no other crazy people were there yet) and then made my way out to the Pier for breakfast. After breakfast made my way around to GRR whcih already had guests in the area (it was about 8am) getting Fastpasses for World of Color. I made my way to the park entrance and got my annual pass scanned and then doubled back to the GRR to grab a Fastpass for the show then I made my way back out to the Pier and hung out at the Swings for a while. At 9am they had a brief ceremony for cast members to celebrate the official grand opening of the swings. After the ceremony made my way around past the Blue Sky cellar again and ran into the wall of guests waiting to enter the park. Hung out for 10 minutes or so to wait for the park opening and to let the mass run by before heading for the backlot and the Whats Next Presentation. After the presentation decided to grab some lunch at Taste Pilots and at this point the Retired Geek headed to Plaza Inn to get lunch and I walked around the Esplanade and Downtown Disney to get some pictures of the other baseball Mickeys then around teh Disneyland Hotel for a while. Stopped by the car to get warmer clothes for the evening then hopped on the monorail. We wandered around Tomorrowland a bit then hopped on train Main Street. Ended up back at DCA and slowly made my way back out to the Fun Wheel for a spin today. Finished the loop of the Pier and headed for the backlot. Did the circle then wandered over to Disneyland and out to Frontierland. Hung around there a while then near the castle. The Street Party showed up so I walked into Fantasyland and around the Big Thunder Trail and Rivers of America on my way to Critter Country. Paused there for a while then made my way back around to the Golden Horseshoe. Watched some of the Billys then headed down Main Street for the Flag Retreat. After the ceremony grabbed a corn dog before returning to DCA. Walked by the Blue Sky Cellar and caught the end of the Pixar Play Parade from there. Strolled through the Wharf and out to the Pier to check out the crowds before heading back to the Sunshine Plaza to catch the kick off of the Glow Fest at 6:15.. The show ended up being cancelled so watch them set up for the 8:15 show and made a loop of the backlot before heading out to find our spot for World of Color. Headed into the viewing area around 7:15 and found our spot for the show. At 8:30 there was a 15 preshow called the Carnival of Color and then at 9:00pm watched the World of Color. After the show followed the masses down the trail by GRR and we turned into the hotel. Walked out to the car while watching Magical and then headed for home.

06/10/10 N/A N/A 12 Started off this trip to the Disneyland Resort a little different. Drove past the Mickey and Friends Garage and headed for the Grand Californian. Drove up to the front and headed inside to check in. After checking in moved the car across the street to the self parking (decided against valet). Then we headed for the parks. Walked through the gate at the Grand Californian and into DCA (they were checking for room keys today). Strolled by GRR and out to the Pier. Took some pictures of the set up for the Premiere and continued on around the Pier. Made out way to the Fun Wheel and went for a spin (only a couple gondola wait). Finished the loop of the Pier and tried to go on the Zephyr, made it into the seat and then they closed because of the wind. Walked through the Wharf and farm areas on my way to the Backlot to check out the Glow Fest set up. Made a loop of the Backlot then headed for Disneyland. Stopped by the Gallery then roamed down the street. Ended up in Frontierland and taking the Mark Twain on a round trip voyage of the Rivers of America. Once back on the main land decided to head back to the hotel to see what was going on with our room, we had not recieved a call and it was after 3pm now. They said our room was not ready but instead got us another one. So we went and grabbed the bags from the car and headed to the room to relax for an hour or so before we had to check in for the red (I mean blue) carpet. Checked in a little after 4 and then had plenty of time to sit and wait as people did not start arriving till closer to 6pm. About 8ish we were moved over to Paradise Park and found a spot for the cermony and show. About 10 minutes to 9 the presentation started with a video introduction then some comments from Mickey and the Disney brass. Then just after 9pm some fireworks marked the start of the show and the World of Color started. Watched the show and then made my way around to check my camera (they told me no cameras at the after party) and then around to the party which was taking place on the far side of the Pier (from the Swings around to Screamin). Made my way through the food areas and took in some of the sights. Once we made it over to Toy Story and saw there was no line at all went for a spin. Then grabbed some more food and chatted with some friends before going for a spin on the Fun Wheel. Wandered around a bit and Toy Story called us again (hard to pass up a walk on). Then made our way back through the Pier talking with some other friends and guests. Ended up over near the Swings and decided to go for a spin since I had not yet. They started closing the attractions around 11:30 so I said my goodbyes and headed back to get my camera. Wandered through an empty DCA and toward the hotel. Made my way back to the room and crashed for the night (of course after taking some more pictures).

There are no pedometer stats for the day since the system resets at midnight and I did not get the data written down in time
05/28/10 7.8 20,799 9 Started off this great afternoon heading for the parks from the Mickey and Friends garage. I thought I was in for a very busy day as I was on the roof of the garage when I arrived. Took the tram to the parks and headed for DCA first. Walked around the Sunshine Plaza, and took a peek down the backlot to check out the street with no walls on it. Then walked down the parade route, through the Wharf area and out to the Pier. Wandered through Paradise Park, around the Zephyr (which was not running due to the winds) then spent some time walking around the newly opened swings. Continued around to the Fun Wheel, went for a spin after a 20 min wait. Then went on Toy Story (about 25 min wait). Finished the loop of the Pier and walked around the Mermaid building a bit then went over to the Blue Sky Cellar. Walked down the backlot and circled aroundby Monsters. Spent some time in Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and even Goofys house before turning our sights on dinner. We headed for DCA and grabbed a bite at Taste Pilots. Then walked down the backlot and went for a ride on Monsters Inc. After Monsters it was out to the Pier. The Zephyr was still closed, so went for a ride on the Jellyfish (the Lazygeeks son is just barely 40 inches so he was able to ride). He was afraid of the swings so we kept going (he will be three in July). Went on Toy Story again, this time a solid 40 minute wait. Then King Tritons before deciding to go back to Disneyland to use the Buzz Fastpasses. Caught some of the Elvis set before hiking over to NOS to catch Fantasmic. After the show walked aggressively to Main Street to catch Magical from there before heading back to the tram, car, and home.

04/23/10 8.5 22,546 9 Started off this cool spring day hopping on a tram and heading toward the parks. First stop DCA. Wandered down the parade route and out to the Pier. Walked around to the Fun Wheel hoping for a ride, but the line was almost to the ramp and thus almost 40 minutes probably so I kept walking around. Stopped at the SS Rustworthy for some shots and made my way around to the Zephyr, which was closed due to winds. Continued on through Paradise Park and then the Wharf and Farm areas on my way to Fliks. Made the circle there and then headed for entrance plaza. Stopped by to watch the celebrity chef of the day, Jeffrey Saad. Then I headed down the backlot to see what was going on. There was a choir competition on the stage and some new walls near Tower of Terror. I turned around and headed back toward the entrance and then over to Disneyland. Hopped on the train and took it around to Toontown where I disembarked and hiked up the hill to Toontown to see if there was anything new there, made the circle and then headed back through Fantasyland, around the Big Thunder trail and the Rivers of America on my way out to Critter Country. Doubled back to Frontierland and stopped to watch the Billys at the Golden Horseshoe. After the show I headed for the Tree House for some more pictures of the Rivers and then wandered through Adventureland and back to Main Street. Ended up heading back to DCA and caught a little of another culinary demonstration by Jonathan Rollo then strolled through Condor Flats and saw pilot Goofy out for some pictures. Decided to head back down the Backlot and saw Chef Goofy out working with the Jr Chefs, so I stopped to watch that show. Afterwards it was back to the Sunshine Plaza to Jammin Chefs - Whats Cooking show before heading to Taste Pilots for dinner. After dinner walked through Condor Flats, around GRR and out to the Pier. Made my way around to the Fun Wheel which had maybe a 10 minute wait so I lined up and went for a spin. Then made my way around to Paradise Park and over to the Blue Sky Cellar. Nothing new so continued on and headed for Disneyland. Decoded to stop and see the Volunteer Cavalcade before heading to Tomorrowland. Stopped by Captain EO and then roamed out to the Matterhorn where they were cycling some sleds, including the new one. Continued around the Matterhorn and into Fantasyland. Walked around the Castle and into Frontierland. Ended up circling around to Adventureland and then heading back to DCA. Made my way out to the Pier. The Zephyr was running again so went for a spin. Then hung out in Paradise Park to see if they were going to do any World of Color testing.. they really did not so I made another loop of the Pier and then headed for the Backlot. Took some pictures just as the park was closing. Decided to head for the tram and Parking structure and watch the fireworks from there. After the show it was time to head home.

04/16/10 8.5 22,492 9.5 Started off this perfect Southern California day (around 70 with not even a hint of a cloud in the sky) hopping on a tram from the Mickey and Friends garage and heading for DCA. Walked through the Sunshine Plaza and down the old parade route taking in the sites, sounds, and smells of the Food and Wine Festival that opened today. Made my way out to Paradise Park and made a pass through the park taking some pictures and enjoying the area. Circled back toward the Piers entrance bridge and headed over past Screamin (15 min wait) and Toy Story(30 min wait) on my way to the Fun Wheel (10 min wait for non swinging). Went for a spin around Mickey to get pictures of the Little Mermaid, Cars Land, and the Swings. After my trip I wandered over to the SS Rustworthy to get some more Swing shots then continued on to the Zephyr (which was closed due to winds). I walked through the Park again and then around the Mermaid site before heading through the farm area and into Bugsland. I was expecting to see the walkway closed but it was open so headed through to to the Tower of Terror area which has most of the walls down for the moment (more coming any day now). Took some pictures of the area and worked my way over to Hollywood Blvd which has most of the walls down (just a small area is walled off near Playhouse Disney where the temporary sidewalk was). Took some more pictures then headed into the Festival Showcase (the old Hollywood and Dine building). Spent some time there and then made my way up the backlot and back to the Sunshine Plaza to see what was going on. Continued on out to the Blue Sky Cellar then caught a bit of the High School Musical show in its new location near the wharf. Made my way back to the Festival Showplace to see one of the sessions, this happened to be J Vineyards and Winery. Watched a little of it then headed back to Sunshine Plaza to catch some of the Guy Feri (the celebrity chef of the day) presentation as well as the Jr Chefs activities. After getting a sample of the presentation I headed across the Esplanade to Disneyland. Hopped on the train and took it around to Toontown. I disembarked and made my way to the Matterhorn to see if I could get a glimpse of the new sled, then walked through Fantasyland, around the Big Thunder trail and the Rivers of America and out to Critter Country. Took some River work shots then doubled back through New Orleans Square and hike through the Treehouse for some more pictures. Finished my Disneyland circled by walking through Adventureland and then down Main Street USA. Caught the end of the Flag Retreat then headed back to DCA. Caught a new performing group called the Jammin Chefs and then headed for Taste Pilots and dinner. After dinner walked through Sunshine Plaza and out to the Wharf. Walked through their and back to the Paradise Park to see what was going on. They were setting up for some World of Color testing. Made my way over to the Zephyr for a spin then spent some time in the park before decided to hike out to Downtown Disney by way of the Grand Californian. Circled Downtown Disney and headed back for DCA through the main entrance. Walked down the backlot and made my way around to the Pier again. Spent quite a bit of time just hanging out in the park and talking to some friends while watching the World of Color set up and testing. Once it got dark I made a loop through the masses waiting for the Electrical Parade and out to the backlot again to check out the lights in action. Took some pictures then back to the Pier where I found some other friends to chat with. We watched the World of Color testing, the Electrical Parade, and the Disneyland fireworks all from the new park before I joined the masses and headed for the exit (around GRR, through Condor Flats, then out). Hopped on a tram (got to ride in one with the doors finally) and then headed for the car and home.

04/09/10 10.0 26,574 11.5 Started off this great spring day with a long line of cars to get into the garage. It seemed too many people showed up around the same time and caused the entrance line to back up to Ball Road. After parking (took about 30 minutes) we walked over to the parks since the tram line looked to be about a 2 tram wait at 2 load stations. We first headed for DCA and strolled along the parade route and out to the Bay Area. Took a look at the new steel that is up for the Little Mermaid and listened to the new background music a bit then wandered around the Bay taking pictures of the World of Color progress before ending up at the Fun Wheel. Waited about 30 minutes to go on the non swinging cars so I could get pictures of Cars Land and the other projects from the air. Continued on around the Bay stopping at the SS Rustworthy to get some shots of the swings and then near the Zephyr which has reopened. Due to winds it was closed, so carried on. Walked around GRR and into Condor Flats. Grabbed lunch at Taste Pilots and then walked down the Backlot circled around to the stage to catch a little of the Drawn to the Magic show then went back up the street and headed for Disneyland. Entered the park and hopped on the train. Took it around to Tomorrowland and grabbed some Fastpasses for the Autopia. Walked through Tomorrowland and the hub on my way to Frontierland (stopped by Plaza Gardens to see who was performing there too). Walked along the Rivers of America work and out to Critter Country. Cut through the Hungry Bear and then doubled back to Adventureland. Walked through the Tree House and then we headed back to Main Street. Decided to go back to DCA and visited the Blue Sky Cellar and then out to the Pier again to see if the Zephyr was running, it was not. Spent some time hanging out and watch the work then circled back through Bugsland and then through the Backlot as we headed back to Disneyland. The Street Party was coming down the street so vs fighting the crowd we watched that then hung around Town Square for the Flag Retreat. Afterwards made our way down the street and into Tomorrowland to grab Fastpasses for Buzz then use our Autopia ones. We headed back to DCA at this point and some of the group headed to the Redwood Creek area and I waited for the Lazygeek to arrive and we headed down the backlot so he could take a picture for us of the Red Car Work, then we walked through Bugsland and the Wharf and did a quite stop at the Bay before joining everyone in the play area. We headed back to the Farm/Wharf area for dinner then made one last stop at the Bay to check out some of the World of Color testing before returning to Disneyland to use our Fastpasses for Buzz. Afterwards we caught some of an Elvis set at the Tomorrowland Terrace before heading back to Main Street and making our way through the masses that had gathered for Remember. We made it out of the park and onto a tram right as the fireworks were starting. Headed back to the garage and home.

03/11/10 4.9 12,982 3.5 Started off walking to McDs for breakfast then over to Disneyland. Wandered around Main Street as they were setting up for the Sherman Brothers event and then headed through Frontierland and over to the New Orleans Square train depot. Hopped on board and rode to Toontown. Walked down the parade route all the way to Town Square then headed to DCA. Made our way over to the near GRR a few minutes before the rope drop then joined the masses heading for Toy Story. Went for a spin, set the high score for the day (does not mean much since there were only a hunred of so people in front of me and it was probably gone within the hour but it was nice to see). After Toy Story walked onto the Fun Wheel and then finished the loop of the Pier and headed for Disneyland to catch the Sherman Brothers window unveiling on Main Street. After the ceremony hung around Main Street for a while then headed out of the park, grabbed a quick lunch at McDs and headed for the car and home.

03/10/10 - D23 Event N/A N/A 2.5 The check in was in the Esplanade and then everyone queued up to head in on the far left (West) entrance turnstyles. We were let in about 15 minutes before the events start time and everyone made their way down to the hub in front of the Castle which had a D23 banner on it. An announcement was played, Walt read Disneylands dedication speech, then some fireworks from the castle to mark the start of the event. The invited VIP guests and D23 CMs lined the bridge and everyone was let into Fantasyland. You had a chance to shake hands and be welcomed by the CMs and VIPs. Once in Fantasyland we roamed around a bit and wandered out near Casey Jr to grab some desserts and a table at the outdoor seating area of the Village Haus. After eating walked through Fantasyland checking out some of the characters and VIPs out for pictures and to chat. Worked our way out to Small World Mall which had some vechicles out and more photo ops. Made it out to Small World then circled back. Decided to head out to the hub and into Tomorrowland to check out Captain EOs area. It was great to walk around the Hub and into Tomorrowland with very few people around! Took some pictures then circled back to the hub and through the Castle. Decided to go for a ride on Peter Pan since it was only a 5 minute wait. After Peter Pan circled Fantasyland again and the Small World Mall one more time. Turned around at Small World and made one last pass through Fantasyland and the Castle before heading down Main Street and out of the park. As you exited they handed out Anniversary pins to everyone. Walked through a deserted esplanade and thenout to Harbor and back to the hotel to call it a night.

No pedometer readings from today since I goofed and forgot to record the values before midnight when it reset...
03/10/10 N/A N/A 3.5 Started off walking over from the hotel on Harbor Blvd we were staying at. Strolled through the transportation center and then into DCA. Walked out to the Pier and took a look at the World of Color progress. Worked our way around to the Fun Wheel. It was cool so the rest of my group decided to go wait for Toy Story and I went for a spin on the Fun Wheel (managed to get my own car even!). Once back on the ground headed for Toy Story and met them to go for a ride. After Toy Story worked our way around to the SS Rustworthy for some pictures then finished up the loop and walked around GRR and through Condor Flats to head over to Disneyland. Hopped on the train and took it out to Toontown. Hiked up the hill to Toontown and went for a spin on Cartoon spin then wandered around a bit. Circled back through Fantasyland and around to Frontierland to grab something to drink at the Golden Horseshoe. Strolled through Adventureland to check out the Jungle Cruise (too long of a wait) so decided to go to Tomorrowland and see about Buzz, it was down so walked out to the Captain EO area then back to Adventureland. Decided the wait was still too long so wandered around Main Street for a while waiting for the D23 event.

02/26/10 7.7 20,485 8 Started off this cloudy afternoon parking in a great spot on the 5th floor of the garage (about 10 steps from the escalator!) and taking the tram over to the parks. Headed for Disneyland first. Strolled down Main Street and into Tomorrowland. Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz and then walked over to Captain EO. There was about 15 minutes until the next show so we found a seat in the preshow and waited. After EO we grabbed a second set of Fastpasses for Buzz and then walked through the hub and Adventureland on my way to New Orleans Square to see what was going on with the Rivers of America work. Hiked out to Critter Country then doubled back and hopped on the train. We disembarked in Toontown and strolled through Fantasyland as we headed for DCA. Walked out to the Pier and around to the Fun Wheel. Went for a spin then continued on around to the SS Rustworthy and finished the loop. Strolled through the Wharf, Farm, and Bugsland on my way to the Backlot. Headed up the street and back to the entrance plaza. Cut through the Greetings from California store and headed over to Disneyland. Hopped on the train and rode out to Toontown. Stopped to grab a snack at the Tavern and then walked through Fantasyland and around the Big Thunder Trail on our way to catch the Billy Hill show. After the show walked through Adventureland and back down Main Street on our way over to DCA. We headed out to the Wharf area for dinner. After dinner walked back through the park and over to Disneyland. Hiked down Main Street and fought through the Street Party crowd on our way into Tomorrowland. Walked out to the Autopia to grab a Fastpass then doubled back to visit Captain EO again. After the show we used out Autopia Fastpasses then stopped to listen to Elvis for a while before using our Buzz Fastpasses. Then walked out to Fantasyland and went on the Tea Cups. After our spin we decided to head for the park exit, tram, garage, and home.

02/19/10 9.0 23,976 8 Parked in the garage and then headed for the tram and over to DCA. Walked through Condor Flats, around GRR and out to the Pier. Walked by Ariels, Screamin, and over to the Fun Wheel. The line was 45 minutes so skipped it and kept walking, stopping at the SS Rustworthy for some pictures. Then finished the loop and walked through the Wharf, Farm Area and Bugsland on my way to the Backlot. Not much happening so headed back up the street and over to Disneyland. Strolled down Main Street and into Tomorrowland. Grabbed Fastpasses for Buzz then walked over by Captain EO to see if anything was going on. Next walked back to Main Street (by the Matterhorn and Castle). Headed into Frontierland and around the Rivers of America for some pictures. Walked out to Critter Country then doubled back and hopped on the train. Rode around to Main Street and headed back to DCA. This time reversed my trek and went down the Backlot and through Bugs to get to the Pier. The Fun Wheel was only a 15 min wait so went for a spin. Once back on the ground doubled back past Screamin and headed for the Wharf and dinner. Ate some bread and then headed for Disneyland. Stopped by the Lion King tram stop to see the new tram doors, then walked up Main Street and into Tomorrowland. Grabbed a Fastpass for Autopia and hiked out to the Small World Mall. Went for a spin on the Tea Cups then headed back to Tomorrowland to use our Buzz Fastpass. Then over to Autopia to use that one as well. Decided to head back to DCA. Walked out to the Pier to see what was going on (they were preparing for some World of Color testing). We had time so wandered over to Bugsland and went on all four attractions in about half an hour then back to the Pier to see if any testing was going on yet. Hung around the Pier until it started to rain and by 8:45ish started heading for the exit since the rain was coming down pretty good. Decided to hike back to the garage due to the large crowd at the tram stop and the rain. Once back to the garage headed for the car and home.

02/12/10 8.8 23,300 9 Parked in the Mickey and Friends garage and then walked over to Disneyland Hotel to check out the progress on the rennovation. Walked around the Dreams Tower and then strolled through Downtown Disney on my way to DCA. Walked down the the Parade Route, through the winery area, and then out to the Pier. Spent some time taking pictures of the World of Color Progress as I worked my way around to the Fun Wheel. Went for a spin (after a 20 minute wait) and then continued on around to the SS Rustworthy. By the time I made my way to the Zephyr it was closed due to the wind (or at least guessing it was wind related) so I contined on and walked through the Wharf, Farm, and into Bugsland. Took the new path to Tower and then walked through the Backlot back to the entrance. Headed over to Disneyland. Roamed down Main Street and over to the newly opened Frontierland bridge to get some pictures. Circled the bridge and then walked through Frontierland and over to Pirates. Took some pictures of the River then found a spot for the Mardi Gras Celebration. After the show I wanted to take the train, but it was closed so I walked through NOS, Adventureland and over to Tomorrowland. Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz then went to check out the Captain E-O progress. Not too much visible yet.. circled around the area and stopped at the Starcade to check out the new floor, then headed for Toontown. Made my circle there and walked back through Fantsyland, around the Big Thunder Trail, and out to Critter Country. Turned around and headed back to the Railroad which was now open. Had to wait three trains and then rode to Toontown. Hiked through the park and to Town Square for the Flag Retreat. After the ceremony headed for DCA again and dinner at Taste Pilots, then strolled around GRR and out to the Pier. Saw the Zephyr was running so walked over there and went for a spin. Then headed back to Disneyland to catch the Volunteers Cavalcade. Stopped by Great Moments to celebrate Lincolns 201 birthday. Then worked my way through the Street Party traffic jam/stopped walkways and into Tomorrowland to use my Buzz Fastpass. Strolled by Captain E-O again and then caught the end of the 80s All Starz set before heading back to DCA. Hiked out to the Pier to see what was going on with World of Color. It looked like they were setting up for some testing, so I hung around for a while. Not much was happening so walked over to the Zephyr and around by the Fun Wheel and Toy Story before finding my way back the area by Ariels. They started to do some testing so headed over to the bridge for a better view. Watched them cycle through lights and fountains for a good hour then headed for the park exit. Caught Disneylands fireworks as I was leaving then hopped on the tram back to the garage, car, and home.

01/30/10 9.9 26,196 9 Started off this great Saturday parking in the garage and then hiking over to the parks since there seemed to be a couple tram wait. We first headed for DCA and out to the Pier to check on the construction progress. Worked our way around the Pier, stopped by Toy Story but the 40 minute wait was more than we wanted to deal with. The Fun Wheel had a 5 minute wait only (2 cars in front of us only) so we went for a spin next. Then worked our way around to the SS Rustworthy and the Zephyr before we decided to head for Condor Flats and lunch at Taste Pilots. After lunch wandered down the Backlot and stopped by the Muppets. After the film we ended up stopping to see Aladdin then walked into Bugsland. Went for a ride on the bumper cars and then headed for Disneyland. Roamed down Main Street and into Tomorrowland. Grabbed a Fastpass for Buzz then went to check out the Captain E-O progress. After taking some pictures headed over to Adventureland and then out to look at the Rivers progress. Hopped on the Disneyland Railroad for a grand circle tour of the park. Once back we stopped by Critter Country and went for a ride on Pooh then hiked back to Main Street for the Flag Retreat. After the ceremony we headed over to DCA to catch the Pixar Play Parade from the Sunshine Plaza then it was back to Disneyland for dinner. Some grabbed a corn dog, others chili, and we met up at the Riverbelle Terrace area. After dinner we walked through Frontierland, the Castle, and Fantasyland to the Small World Mall area to watch the Voluntears Cavalcade. After the pre-parade we went for a cruise on Small World and then hiked through the park and over to DCA (with a quick stop at the Main Street Cinema). Headed out to the Pier to check if there was any World of Color testing going on (there was nothing exciting happening) and then the Toy Story wait (still 40 minutes so we skipped it). We finished our loop and headed back to Disneyland. Wandered down Main Street and into Tomorrowland to use our Buzz Fastpasses. Then stopped by the Tomorrowland Terrace to catch some of the Rumble Kings. Decided to go for a spin on Autopia since it was only a 10 minute wait then strolled back to Main Street. We decided to call it a night and headed out of the park and hiked back to the garage.

01/15/10 7.0 18,650 9 Started off this great Southern California day with a decent parking spot in the garage and then a quick tram ride over to the parks. We first headed for DCA and lunch at Taste Pilots. After lunch we walked by GRR and some of the group stopped by the Redwood Creek area and I continued on to the Pier to get some World of Color shots. We met up and continued around to Toy Story, it was about a 20 min wait. After Toy Story we visited the Fun Wheel (again a 20 min wait) and then continued around and walked on the Zephyr. Finished the loop and walked through Bugsland and by the Tower of Terror on our way to the Backlot. Walked onto Monsters then headed for Disneyland. Strolled down Main Street and into Tomorrowland to grab Fastpasses for Buzz. Then walked through Adventureland and over to the Pirates bridge to get some pictures of the now compelely drained Rivers of America. Walked along the Rivers and out to Critter Country, then doubled back and hopped on the Disneyland Railroad for a quick ride to Toontown (to get some more shots of the River). Walked back through Small World Mall, Fantasyland, and around the Big Thunder trail on my way to the Golden Horseshoe to catch Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. After their show wandered down Main Street and tried to visit Lincoln (we had a sleeping two and a half year old with us and they said no strollers allowed inside), so we spent some time on Main Street then wandered down to Tomorrowland. Decided to visit Innoventions then headed for dinner of corn dogs or chicken dinners depending on what you wanted before going back to DCA to see if they were doing any World of Color Testing. They were not so turned around and walked back to Disneyland. Hopped on the steam train to NOS and went to visit the recently re-opened Haunted Mansion. After the Haunted Mansion hopped back on the train to Toontown. Walked by Small World then around the Matterhorn, through Tomorrowland, and back to Main Street. We decided to call it an evening and headed for the tram, car, and home.

01/08/10 8.8 23,395 9.5 Started off this picture perfect Southern California afternoon parking in the garage and taking the tram over to the parks. Walked into DCA first and spend some time roaming around the Red Car construction walls on the Backlot. Worked my way around past Tower of Terror and through the new walkway into Bugsland. Continued on to the Pier to check out the World of Color progress. Made my way around and took a spin on the Fun Wheel, stopped by the SS Rustworthy, and wend for a ride on the Zephyr before walking over to GRR. It appeared they were filling the flume for testing. Peaked into Condor Flats then decided to walk through the Grand California, across the street, through the parking lot, and out to the Disneyland Hotel to check out the rennovation work. Circled back to the Monorail station and rode into Tomorrowland. Grabbed a Fastpas for Buzz and walked around the old Honey I Shrunk the Audience theater to see if there was any visible progress then met up with some friends near the Autopia. We walked around the Matterhorn and out to Small World. Went for probably our last voyage of the holiday season and then wandered into Toontown to see what was going on. Ended up in Mickeys House and the line for Mickey (which was only about 10 minutes). Spent some time around Donalds Boat and then walked back toward Fantasyland. Hopped on the Tea Cups (only a two cycle wait) before continuing around the Big Thunder Trail and to the now mostly drained Rivers of America. Took some pictures of the River around the walls and continued out to Critter Country. Got in line for Pooh. While in line we noticed someone in a wheel chair having a problem getting out of their vechicle. This lead to a backup at the station and the ride shut down. Due to them having to evacuate and restart the ride we bailed on the line and walked back through NOS. Decided to hike up the Tree House to see a better view of the drained River and then we headed for Buzz to use our Fastpasses. Had some time to kill so roamed around Main Street and found a spot to watch the 6:15 pre-parade which now features the Muppets. Saw it come out of the parade gate and head up Main Street. Decided to push through the crowd (cutting through the stores) and get some shots coming up Main Street and then for the fun of it decided to circle through the Castle, Fantasyland, and out to the Small World Mall to catch it coming through there. After taking my fill of pictures walked through Tomorrowland and through the Street Party traffic mess to exit the park. Headed for DCA and Taste Pilots for dinner. After dinner strolled around GRR and out to the Pier. All was quiet so walked through the Wharf and Bugsland to the Backlot around and up the other side of the Street back to the Sunshine Plaza. Walked back to Disneyland and roamed around Main Street as I headed out to Tomorrowland to check out the band performing there. Only tolerated two songs then headed for Small World to see the lights one last time. After that ended up on Main Street again and stopped by to see Great Moments. After the show still had 20 minutes till Remember so decided to take the tram back to the garage and watch from there before heading home.
