December
20, 2004 - January 1, 2005
Hello again, everybody!
Sorry I missed you all last week - last week was the annual gauntlet
of office Christmas luncheons, and after five days straight of fried
foods, sugary foods, fried sugary foods, and delicious but otherwise
unidentifiable foods, I wasn't in the mood to do much of anything
other than curl up in bed with an economy-size bottle of Pepto-Bismol.
:p But I'm all better now - I must be, I'm starting to eye all the
candy I was given by my co-workers as Christmas presents! ;) - so
I thought I'd better put the bottle of Pepto down and tell all of
you what you've got to look forward to on TV.
Folks, if you're fans of Disney park TV shows, Christmas is coming
a few days early! We've got a lot of shows coming up this week -
including a new show about Epcot's newest attraction and the latest
edition of the WDW Christmas Parade - and we've got a couple of
parades coming up around New Year's Day that will feature entries
from the Disney parks, one of which will also have a certain Mouse
serving as grand marshal. Here's what's coming up. (As always, all
times are PST and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless otherwise

Hello again, everyone!
I hope everyone's been having a wonderful holiday season so far.
I was working on figuring out what I was going to make for my friends
(yes, I said "make" -- for the last couple of years I've
been making presents for my friends) when I realized I hadn't written
Santa what I want for Christmas! I still haven't figured out what
I want yet -- except for more Disney theme park shows. Can you help
me out on this one, Santa? I've seen all the shows about WDW on
the Travel Channel! :) Well, while I'm trying to figure out what
else to ask for, let's take a look at what we have to look forward
to in the next couple of weeks. Here's what's coming up. (As usual,

That's going to do it for this time! Well, folks, I think I've
finally figured out what to ask for. I love Disney music and I love
karaoke, so I'm asking for a Disney karaoke microphone. Just think
-- hours of fun singing along to my favorite Disney tunes! This'll
be great! Oh, hold on, someone just slipped a note under my door.
Wow - it's a note from Santa! I guess he really does know everything
you're up to! (Opens note.) "I've heard you sing. Don't even
think about it." Oh, well, back to the drawing board. I'll
talk to you again soon, folks; until then, take care, everyone.

Hello again, everybody!
Hooray - it's finally the holidays! Now that the sleepiness from
all that turkey on Thanksgiving has worn off and I've recovered
from fighting for bargains at the after-Thanksgiving sales, I'm
putting up my Christmas decorations. I'm all done inside and my
Mickey Mouse wreath is hanging on the door (with a ton of super
glue to - ahem - discourage Mickey from paying a visit to my neighbors),
but I'm still working on getting all the lights strung up outside.
While I look over my wiring diagrams from last year, let's see what

putting them up. Watch out, Osborne Family! This is going to be

(Pause) The power company? Is there a problem? (Pause.) I was just
getting ready to put them up. Why? (Pause). Yes, I remember what
happened last year, but there was never any proof that my lights
caused the blackout! (Pause.) What do you mean, I can't plug them
in this year? Everybody else in the neighborhood gets to plug in
their lights! Just a minute. Uh, folks, I may be a while here, so
I'd better let you go. Have a good week, and until next time, take
care, everyone.

November
24 - Dec 4, 2004
Hello again, everybody!
Well, the holidays are almost upon us again, and I've been getting
ready for an annual tradition at the Schnebelen household. No, not
Thanksgiving dinner - we just go out to Black Angus for that! I'm
talking about going out to find bargains at the after-Thanksgiving
sales! I've been looking forward to this all year. Let's see, do
I have evrything? Football helmet and shoulder pads? Check. Quick-draw
holster for my credit cards? Check. Track shoes so I can run straight
to the best bargains? Check. OK, I think I've got everything I need
for Friday. I'd better make sure that there are no Disney park TV
shows that I (or you) don't want to miss so I can program the VCR
in advance.
Well, we've got quite a few shows coming up, folks - including
no less than two shows from WDW in Spanish. Just the thing if you
want to see how much of your high-school Spanish you remember as
you watch scenes from WDW! :) And don't forget, folks...the Walt
Disney World Christmas Parade is just around the corner - make sure
to pick up a couple of blank tapes or DVDs or whatever as you do
your Christmas shopping. Here's what's coming up. (As always, all

November
15-26, 2004
Hello again, everyone!
I finally got a chance to see "The Incredibles" over
Veteran's Day and I was really impressed - it's a great movie, definitely
worth it if you're one of the three Disney fans who haven't seen
it yet! :) There are a lot of really neat things based on the movie
out in the stores right now, too; I was trying to make up my mind
as to which one I should buy on my next shopping trip when what
do I find on my doorstep but the "Syndrome Be A Superhero Kit"!
This thing has a set of bracelets that supposedly give you various
phenomenal superpowers like Syndrome had in the movie. Funny, I
don't remember ordering this from the Disney Catalog, but what the
hey, they look kinda interesting - I'll give 'em a shot.
While I try to figure out how these bracelets work, let's take
a look at the Disney theme park TV shows coming up! We don't have
any new programs coming up in the next couple of weeks, we do have
a few old favorites showing up on the Travel Channel and several
other channels - including a show about WDW on Discovery HD on Thanksgiving
evening, so you folks who have an HDTV setup can have dreams of
Disney theme parks when all that turkey you'll have for dinner starts
putting you to sleep. :) Here's what coming up. (As always, all
times are PST and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless otherwise
noted.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts

Grand Californian Hotel." Host Samantha Brown visits the premier
hotel of the Disneyland Resort, having breakfast with Disney characters
at Storytellers' Cafe, getting a look at an exclusive, large, and
luxurious suite, and joining a group of teenage hotel guests for
some wild rides at Disney's California Adventure.

Well, that's going to do it for this time, folks! Let's see, I
think I've got these bracelets figured out now. Let's try this button
that says "Lightning Ray" and see what that does. Maybe
it makes noise or someth-- (A lightning bolt shoots across the room
and blows apart the window.) Oooookaaaayy, I think I'm going to
take these off now. Anybody have the phone number for Mr. Incredible?

November
8-18, 2004
(Heavy metal door in ground clangs open. Paul peers out.)
All clear? Oh, good. Hello again, everyone.
Sorry I was gone last week, folks - everybody was getting so riled
up about the election I felt like I needed to get away to someplace
quiet until it was all over. Fortunately, I found this old bomb
shelter in the neighborhood. No endlessly repeating political commercials,
no sound bites and stump speeches, no pollsters calling you every
5 minutes - it was really nice. Eating emergency rations from 1957
did take some getting used to, though...
It looks like the programmers needed a break from everything as
much as I did - we only have two shows about the parks coming up,
and they're both about Disneyland Paris. Well, at least you'll have
a little extra time for the Halloween and Christmas preparations,
folks! Here's what's coming up. (All times are PST - you DID set
your clocks back, didn't you? - and all shows are on the Travel
Channel.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Wednesday, November 10, 11:00 a.m.: "Inside Walt Disney Studios
Paris." A look at the construction, the shows, parades, and
attractions of Disney's newest theme park, a movie studio park in
Europe featuring movie-based attractions such as "Cinemagique",
"Armageddon", and the "Moteurs Action" stunt
show, and thrill rides such as "Rock N' Roller Coaster Starring
Aerosmith."
Thursday, November 18, 7:00 a.m.: "Inside Disneyland Paris."
A look behind the scenes at the rides, shows and characters of Disney's
first European theme park, including a look at headliner attractions
such as "Space Mountain", "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience"
and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril."
Well, that's all I have for the listings, but before I go, I want
to offer a belated "thank you" to all the folks that sponsored
me for the CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk Around the Park on October
3rd. I also want to thank all you folks out there who sponsored
the 12,000 other folks that walked around the Disney theme parks
and Downtown Disney to support Children's Hospital of Orange County;
because of your kindness and generosity, over $1 million was raised
for CHOC at the Walk! I'd also like to extend an invitation for
you to join us crazy people bright and early on October 2, 2005
for the 15th edition of the Walk in the Park - you may grumble a
little about getting out of bed that early, but once you've done
it you'll never regret it.
Well, that's going to do it for this time. Now, to enjoy the post-election
peace and quiet... (Phone rings.) Just a minute. Hello? You're from
what polling group? No, I don't know who I'm going to vote for in
2008! (Pause.) No, that doesn't mean I'm undecided, it's just that
the election's four years away! Go bother someone in Iowa or New
Hampshire, will you? (Hangs up phone.) Good grief. Have a good week,
and take care, everyone!

setting off a flame war). Fortunately, I actually got some free

"battleground states" (and everyplace else) who are looking
for a little Disney break from all the election news (although hopefully
this thing will all be over and done with by November 2nd!). Here's

September
27 - October 8, 2004
Hello again, everyone!
I realize that it's not even October yet, but I'm already getting
into the Halloween spirit (no pun intended); I've got my pumpkin
lights strung all over the house, I've got a CD of Haunted Mansion
Holiday Christmas Scarols playing -- all I need now is a good idea
for a costume. My first thought was a Michael Eisner costume, but
one look at it and my fiancée convinced me that it was too
scary! :) Well, I'm going to keep thinking about that, but in the
meantime, here's a pre-Halloween treat for all of you -- the latest
list of Disney theme park shows coming up! (As usual, all times
are PDT and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless otherwise
noted.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Tuesday, September 28, 12:30 p.m., and Friday, October 1, 8:30
a.m.: Great Hotels - "Disney's Grand Californian Hotel."
Host Samantha Brown visits the premier hotel of the Disneyland Resort,
having breakfast with Disney characters at Storytellers' Cafe, getting
a look at an exclusive, large, and luxurious suite, and joining
a group of teenage hotel guests for some wild rides at Disney's
California Adventure.
Sunday, October 3, 4:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 12:00 midnight, Food
Network: Unwrapped - "Walt Disney World Resort." A peek
behind the scenes at Walt Disney World shows what goes into making
the food that delights Disney theme park guests, including segments
on Mickey Mouse chocolate-covered ice cream bars, turkey legs, Chef
Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, and the preparation of fairy
tale wedding cakes.
Thursday, October 7, 2:00 p.m.: "Disney Cruise Line."
A close-up look at the public areas and behind the scenes on the
Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, including segments on the ships'
planning, design, and construction, visits to the galley, engine
control room, a theatre hosting Broadway-style productions, and
the luxurious Walt Disney Suite, and a look at Disney Cruise Line's
private island, Castaway Cay.
B. Shows Featuring Segments About Disney Theme Parks and
Resorts
Tuesday, October 5, 10:00 a.m., Food Network: The Best Of - "Family
Dining". Includes a segment on the 50's Prime Time Cafe at
the Disney-MGM Studios or 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. {Poster's
note: One of my sources lists one of these restaurants, another
lists the other, so it could be that one or both of them is featured.
Tune in and find out which restaurant it is! :) }
C. Shows Featuring Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Thursday, October 7, 11:00 p.m., and Friday, October 8, 2:00 a.m.,
Nick at Nite: Roseanne - "We're Going to Disney World."
Roseanne decides to use Dan's severance check to take the family
to Walt Disney World.
Thursday, October 7, 11:30 p.m., and Friday, October 8, 2:30 a.m.,
Nick at Nite: Roseanne - "Disney World War II." Walt Disney
World has a profound effect on Roseanne's usually complaining brood.
Friday, October 8, 11:35 p.m. The Disney Channel: Boy Meets World
- "The Happiest Show on Earth." Cory heads to Walt Disney
World with the hopes of winning back Topanga, but she thinks he
has other plans.
Those are all the listings I have, folks, but before I wrap up
here, I'd like to take a moment to make an unseemly plea for charitable
donations. {If you're not in the mood for being hit up for charity,
please skip to the next paragraph.} :) I've been doing lots of walking
over the last few months in preparation for participating in the
Walt Disney World Marathon in January, but I wanted to find a way
to get a little Disney into my training routine and do some good
besides, so I'm walking in the CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the
Park next Sunday, October 3. The Walk in the Park is a 5K walk through
the Disneyland Resort benefiting the Children's Hospital of Orange
County (California), a non-profit organization that provides healthcare
services for infants, children, and adolescents in the area. There
are going to be 12,000 crazy people like me out there walking to
help the kids; if you're in the area, come join us, but if you can't
come, I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider sponsoring me!
If you'd like to sponsor me, you can do so online by going to http://www.chochospital.org/chocwalk/walk_main.cfm
and clicking on "Click Here to Register and Sponsor Online";
my user ID is "schnebs." Thanks in advance from me and
the kids!
Okay, folks, that's going to do it for this time; now, if you'll
excuse me, I've got to get back to deciding on a costume. Maybe
I could come up with a costume that includes this great hat I just
found. After all, it's really pretty, with all the stars on it and
everything... (Noises come from outside Paul's office.) Uh, just
a minute, folks. (Looks into hallway.) Funny, I don't remember my
new broom having arms. Y'know, that music sounds vaguely familiar...
oh, well, I'm sure it's nothing. Have a good week and take care,
everyone!

14-20, 2004
Hello again, everyone -- I'm back!!! :)
I had a wonderful time in Oregon with my beloved fiancée
- the only downside to it was that I wish that I could have stayed
longer. Hope you didn't miss me too much, folks. Since it's my first
full day back, I'll give you a choice - you can either see a PowerPoint
presentation featuring the 14 memory cards full of photos I took
on vacation, or we can get right to the listings. Let's see a show
of hands. Listings? Wow. Almost unanimous {or is it unanimouse?
:)}. All right - photos? Photos? Anyone? Thanks for raising your
hand, Mom - I'll show 'em to you later. Listings it is, then!
There are four words I want you to keep in mind if you're looking
for a Disney theme park TV show fix within the next week or so:
September 20th, Travel Channel. Why those four words? Because that's
when and where you'll find all the shows on my list! No channel
surfing required this time out, folks. Here's what's coming up.
(For this time, all times are PDT, all shows are on the Travel Channel,
and all shows are on September 20th.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts

Explore the history and the inner workings of the Florida Disney
theme parks in an in-depth, behind the scenes tour of America's
favorite vacation destination.

behind the creation of attractions for the Disney theme parks, from
initial concept to design to construction and testing, and explore
some of WDW's most popular attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean,
Splash Mountain, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.: "Fan's Guide: Walt Disney World."
Four groups of ultimate Disney fans show the ways they make the
most of a Walt Disney World vacation, including their secrets to
finding the best shopping and dining, the shortest lines and the
biggest thrills at the Florida parks and resorts.
And that's going to do it for this time, folks! (I know the pickings
are slim, but look at it this way - all you're going to have to
do to record these shows if you don't have 'em already is to remember
to press the "record" button on your VCR at 2:00 p.m.
on the 20th.) Hopefully, I'll have some additional shows to tell
you about next time; until then, have a good week, and take care,
everyone.

August
31 - September 9, 2004
Hello again, everyone!
Well, folks, here we are at the end of summer - where did the time
go? I hope everybody had as good a time watching the Olympics as
I did; in fact, I was so inspired by the fencing competition (well,
that and the release of "Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in the Three
Musketeers" on DVD) that I went out and got myself some fencing
gear - including an actual, honest-to-Pete fencing blade. Watch
this! EN GARDE! (Swishing noise.) Oooh. Didn't realize those buggers
were so sharp. Maybe my fiancée won't notice that her big
Mickey plush only has one ear now.
Anyway, on to the listings. Well, the programmers at the cable
networks came through for us, folks; unlike last week, when we had
nothing to report, we now have several programs coming up. Granted,
most of them are repeats, but hey, the fall season's just around
the corner -- I'm sure that'll change! Here's what's coming up.
(As always, all times are PDT and all shows are on the Travel Channel
unless otherwise noted. Programs new to the listings are noted with
an asterisk {*} after the description.)

spend some time with my lovely fiancée {and away from my
computer -- at least until the "Get Paul a Laptop" fundraising
drive starts to bear a bit more fruit. :) } I hope everyone has
a wonderful Labor Day weekend - don't forget to give a buck or two
for Jerry's Kids - and a great couple of weeks. I'll talk to you
again soon; until then, take care, everyone.

17 - 20, 2004
Hello again, everybody, and welcome to r.a.d.p. and The Disney
Echo's coverage of the Couch Potato Olympics, live from Athens...Athens,
Georgia, that is. I'm Bob Costas - not to be confused with that
other Bob Costas on NBC - and we're going to take you now to the
finals of the Disney Parks TV Show Watching Marathon. Let's go to
our color commentator, five-time Couch Potato Olympics gold medallist
in this event, Paul Schnebelen. Paul, how's it going down there?
PAUL: Bob, things are really getting exciting down here...oh, who
am I kidding -- it's eight people sitting in La-Z-Boys watching
TV. Watching this is about as exciting as watching paint dry. The
shows they're watching are pretty good, though! I thought we were
about to see an upset here, as the competitor from Japan looked
like he was almost out of snacks, but he pulled out a bag of Cheetos
from out of nowhere and he's still in it. We're getting to the home
stretch now -- the really serious TV watching is about to begin.
Here's what's coming up. (As always, all times in these listings
are PDT and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless otherwise
noted.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Tuesday, August 17, 11:00 a.m: "Family Vacation In Orlando."
Attractions in Orlando, FL, include Walt Disney World, Sea World,
the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, and the now-closed
Cypress Gardens. (Poster's note: This program contains only a couple
of minutes of footage of the Walt Disney World Resort; there has
been negative feedback on rec.arts.disney.parks about the lack of
Disney footage in this program.)
Friday, August 20, 7:00 a.m.: "Disney Cruise Line." A
close-up look at the public areas and behind the scenes on the Disney
Magic and the Disney Wonder, including segments on the ships' planning,
design, and construction, visits to the galley, engine control room,
a theatre hosting Broadway-style productions, the luxurious Walt
Disney Suite, and a look at Disney Cruise Line's private island,
Castaway Cay.
Friday, August 20, 8:00 a.m.: Great Hotels - "Disney's Grand
Californian Hotel." Host Samantha Brown visits the premier
hotel of the Disneyland Resort, having breakfast with Disney characters
at Storytellers' Cafe, getting a look at an exclusive, large, and
luxurious suite, and joining a group of teenage hotel guests for
some wild rides at Disney's California Adventure.
B. Shows Taking Place at Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Wednesday, August 18, 8:30 a.m., The Learning Channel: Second Chance
- "Stella and Sean." A couple who fell in love while working
together in Cedar Rapids, IA and then broke up when one of them
became the lead singer in a band have a magical reunion at Walt
Disney World.
Thursday, August 19, 3:00 a.m., The Disney Channel: Boy Meets World
- "The Happiest Show on Earth." Cory heads to Walt Disney
World with the hopes of winning back Topanga, but she thinks he
has other plans.
And those are all the programs they have left to watch until the
end of the event, folks -- some pretty exciting TV coming up, but
they've really got to pace themselves. Oh, wait a minute - what's
this? The competitor from France is shifting in his chair! Is it
-- yes! He's a got a leg cramp! He's out of his chair and out of
the event! He was one of the favorites, too. We'll be here until
this event is decided, folks! More to come -- back to you, Bob!
BOB COSTAS: Well, folks, we'll be back to the Disney Parks TV Watching
Marathon soon, but we've got to cut away for now to bring you your
local news -- or anything more exciting than watching a bunch of
guys in lounge chairs. Be sure to tune in next week for the gold
medal round of synchronized channel flipping -- that's always a
lot of fun to watch. For now, good night, and take care, everyone.

Hello again, everybody!
Whew! Hottest summer we've had in years. Since we don't have air
conditioning in my apartment - I guess nobody ever figured that
the weather here would ever get this warm - I've borrowed a trick
from the Carousel of Progress's Cousin Orville and commandeered
the "coolest place in the house" - right down to the fans
blowing on the block of ice. It feels pretty good, but a computer
and a tub full of cold water don't sound like a good combination,
so let's go right to the listings. Here's what's coming up. (As

(Unintelligible speech from behind door) Oh, come on, I have NOT
been in here for 6 hours! (Looks at watch.) See -- I was right,
it's been 7 1/2 hours. (More unintelligible speech.) All right,

3 - 13, 2004
Hello again, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to r.a.d.p.and
The Disney Echo's continuing coverage of the first national convention
of the nation's newest political party - the Disney Fan Party! We're
coming to you live from the Contemporary Resort Convention Hall
(where else would the Disney Fan Party meet but at WDW?), and we're
listening to the keynote speech from the Party's delegate from Oxnard,
California, Paul Schnebelen, already in progress...
"My fellow Americans -- and non-Americans, as well! Join us
as members of the Disney Fan Party! Together, we can bring Disney
magic to the world, and ensure that there's a Great Big Beautiful
Tomorrow, shining at the end of every day! (Massive applause.) We
don't care if you're a liberal or a conservative, a Democrat or
a Republican, or even if you vote or not -- in the words of our
Party's mascot, 'Hey there, hi there, ho there, you're as welcome
as can be!' (Cheering and applause.)
"The cornerstone of our Party's platform is our belief that
there should be full access to Disney magic for all 24 hours a day.
We believe we have come up with the perfect way to make that possible.
Unfortunately, the Powers That Be refuse to consider our proposed
legislation, the Disney Theme Park TV Channel Act of 2004! (Boos
from the crowd.) I agree, my fellow delegates, it 's a shame. Until
the Powers That Be see the light and this act becomes the law of
the land, the Disney Fan Party remains committed to helping all
Disney fans find Disney theme park TV shows wherever and whenever
they may be on. As proof of our Party's commitment, instead of reading
the rest of my speech, I will read to you the listing of Disney
theme park TV shows for the next ten days! (Wild cheering and applause.)
As always, my friends, we must remember that all times in these
listings are PDT and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless
otherwise noted."

Hello again, everybody - I'm finally back! :)
First off, I'd like to apologize to the regular readers of these
posts for my abrupt disappearance. I was overwhelmed by a series
of events at home and at work, including preparations for and the
aftermath of a trip to the NFFC's national convention. (I'm glad
I attended even if going made things a little hectic for a while
- there were some great presentations about various aspects of Disney
and some really fun events. If you consider yourself to be a big
fan of Disney, I highly recommend joining the NFFC and attending
a Convention. I always have a great time there!) Now that everything's
back to its usual level of chaos around here :) , I can get back
to letting you folks know what's coming up as far as Disney park

July
12-21, 2004
Hello again, everyone!
It's a beautiful summer day here in southern California, so I've
decided to fire up my Grillmaster 3000 once again and take another
shot at a backyard barbecue. Yeah, I know things didn't go too well
last time, but not to worry - I've got my lovely fiancée
sitting next to the phone with the fire department on speed dial,
just in case. I think it's really touching that she's so concerned
about my safety. (OK, she's also sitting by the phone because she
refuses to come out to the patio while I'm running the grill, but
that's not important right now.) While I work on getting this grill
started, let's talk about what's coming up on TV.
Well, folks, if you copied down last week's listings, you're not
going to have much to do this week; except for a repeat of Food
Network's excellent episode of "Unwrapped" and another
sitcom visit from Roseanne and her family, I don't have anything
new to add to what's coming up. :( Guess all the folks at the various
cable networks that run Disney park-related TV shows decided to
go on vacation themselves or something. Well, maybe I'll have a
bit more for you next week. In the meantime, here's what's coming
up. (All times are PDT.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks
Wednesday, July 14, 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, July
15, midnight, 4:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m., Discovery HD: "Disneyland
Resort: Behind The Scenes." Explore the world-famous California
theme park and its California-themed sister park for a look at rides
and shows such as the Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Indiana Jones Adventure,
Soarin' Over California, and Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Gain
access to places seldom seen by the public, including Walt Disney's
private apartment and a secret club in New Orleans Square.
Wednesday, July 14, 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, July
15, 1:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m., Discovery HD: "America's
Thrillmakers". A look at major attractions at Walt Disney World
focuses on the thought and imagination that go into creating them
and the riders' reactions to what they experience. Attractions featured
include the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster,
Splash Mountain, Dinosaur and Mission: Space.
Sunday, July 18, 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Food Network: Unwrapped
- "Walt Disney World Resort." A peek behind the scenes
at Walt Disney World shows what goes into making the food that delights
Disney theme park guests, including segments on Mickey Mouse chocolate-covered
ice cream bars, turkey legs, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort,
and the preparation of fairy tale wedding cakes.
B. Shows Taking Place At Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Wednesday, July 14, 4:00 p.m., Country Music Television (CMT):

country music star at Walt Disney World is intercut with clips of

Thursday, July 15, 9:00 a.m., Discovery HD: A Wedding Story - "Jen
and Tom." A couple who met while portraying Cinderella and
Prince Charming at Walt Disney World plan their real-life wedding.
Friday, July 16, 2:30 p.m., Nickolodeon: Sabrina the Teenage Witch:
"Disney World." While visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom,
Sabrina makes a potion that will transform her into an animal, but
Valerie takes the potion for herself and Libby.
Tuesday, July 20, 3:00 p.m., and Wednesday, July 21, 10:00 a.m.,
Oxygen: Roseanne - "We're Going to Disney World." Roseanne
decides to use Dan's severance check to take the family to Walt
Disney World.
Tuesday, July 20, 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday, July 21, 10:30 a.m.,
Oxygen: Roseanne - "Disney World War II." Walt Disney
World has a profound effect on Roseanne's usually complaining brood.
Well, that's going to do it for this time, folks. Before you go,
how 'bout joining me for a little barbecue? I actually got the ol'
Grillmaster going without blowing it up, and the steaks I put on
the grill should be just about... um... oh, boy... I mean the beef
jerky that I prepared as an appetizer is done! Just brush off the
ashes and it'll be fine. (Yelling to the screen door) Honey, as
long as you're by the phone, could you order some pizza? Have a
happy summer, and take care, everyone!

Hello again, everyone!
Sorry I'm late this week, folks - I have to leave on a business

Let's see...business clothes? Check. Files and folders? Check. Stationery

Hello again, everybody!
Well, apparently there are some TV programmers who read these posts
and are tired of listening to me complain about the lack of Disney
theme park shows on the air :) , because a bunch of shows featuring
the Disney parks have popped up on the schedule for the next couple
of weeks. Okay, all the shows have aired before, but there's a show
on the Food Network that's only aired once before (well, technically
twice - once for each coast on the same day), so you'll have a chance
to catch it again in case you missed it the first time around. (Like
I did. Hey, just because I write these posts doesn't mean that I
remember to tape them!) For you folks that like watching sitcoms
featuring WDW, June 2 is your night, with back-to-back 2-part episodes
of "Full House" and "Roseanne" featuring visits
there. Get the popcorn ready! Here's what's coming up. (As always,

Hello there, wizards, witches and Muggles! (Sorry, I saw the
previews for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
on Sunday and the effect hasn't quite worn off...)
Well, folks, the TV season is just about over and the summer movie
season is almost upon us. Now would probably be a good time to get
out the "summer preview" issue of your favorite entertainment
magazine and decide what you want to see... which is my way of saying
there isn't all that much coming up in the next couple of weeks.
There are several favorites coming up on the Travel Channel, but
nothing new just yet; hopefully, that'll change soon. Here's what's
coming up. (As always, all times are PDT and all shows are on the

me, I've got to get to my local movie theatre and save a spot in
line for... well, heck, I'm going to be there just about every week

Hello again, everybody!
Boy, is it hot here today! We're experiencing a bit of a spring
heat wave here in Southern California, so I'm trying to make do
as best I can. Good thing I bought that Misty-Mate last time I was
at Disneyland! (Don't worry, folks, my computer's protected from
the water mist by my collection of Mickey Mouse ponchos.) Anyway,
we've got some good shows coming up in the next couple of weeks,

April
20 - May 2, 2004
Hello again, everyone!
I think the Travel Channel has declared 11:00 a.m. PDT to be the
"Disney hour"; the reason I think that's the case is the
number of Disney theme park TV shows airing in that time slot in
the next week or so. I totally agree with this concept -- heck,
I'd like to see a channel with nothing but Disney theme park shows!
- but I wish they could do it at a time when I was at home. Ah,
well, that's why we have VCR's, right? In addition to all those
shows at 11, the Travel Channel will also air an old favorite in
prime time next week, and ABC will have a sitcom episode featuring
Disneyland. (I'm not sure, but I think an episode featuring a Disney
theme park is a requirement if you have a hit show on ABC...) Here's
what's coming up. (As always, all times are PDT and all shows are
on the Travel Channel unless otherwise noted. Shows that are new
to the listings are noted with an asterisk {*} after the description.)
A. Shows About Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Tuesday, April 20, 11:00 a.m.: "Family Vacation In Orlando."
Attractions in Orlando, FL, include Walt Disney World, Sea World,
the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, and Cypress
Gardens. (Poster's note: This program contains only a couple of
minutes of footage of the Walt Disney World Resort. There has been
negative feedback on rec.arts.disney.parks about the lack of Disney
footage in this program.)
Friday, April 23, 11:00 a.m.: "DisneySea Revealed." Get
a look at the attractions, shows, water pageants, and restaurants
(as well as a very popular fast food cart) at Disney's latest Japanese
theme park, a park themed to the seas that cost almost 3 billion
dollars and took 10 years to design and construct.
Saturday, April 24, 6:00 a.m., Friday, April 30, 7:00 p.m. and
10:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 1, 7:00 a.m.: "Walt Disney World
Resort: Behind the Scenes." Explore the history and the inner
workings of the Florida Disney theme parks in an in-depth, behind
the scenes tour of America's favorite vacation destination.
Monday, April 26, 11:00 a.m.: "Disney's Imagineers."

Hello again, everybody!
Sorry, folks, I can't spend too much time chatting this week -
I've got to finish my taxes and I'm having some...uh, disagreements...with
my tax preparer. Just a minute. (Into phone) Why CAN'T I list the
Walt Disney Company as a dependent? Do you know how much of my money
goes to support them? (Pause) Oh, all right, take it out. I'll call
you back. (Hangs up phone). Well, folks, if you need a break from
tax time...and goodness knows I sure do!... get your VCRs and TiVos
ready, because the Travel Channel has a bunch of shows featuring
the Disney parks on the air on Tuesday afternoon and ABC is going
to follow a host of "The View" on a 'Magical Gathering'
on the same day. There are also some other fun shows coming up after
April 15th, so you'll have plenty of chances to watch TV while you
plan how to blow that tax refund. Here's what's coming up. (As always,

Hello, everybody! (Yep, he's finally back...)
Sorry I've been away for so long, folks - hope you didn't miss
me too much. Let me assure you that contrary to some rumors that

Hello again, everybody!
Well, another Oscar night has come and gone; hope everybody had
as good a time as I did watching the show. My tickets to the ceremony
never arrived (They must have gotten lost in the mail. Yeah, that's
it.), so I watched the show on ABC; congrats to Andrew Stainton
for his Oscar for Best Animated Feature for "Finding Nemo",
and my sympathies to Johnny Depp and Roy E. Disney for not getting
the win in their categories. (I was really hoping Roy would get
a chance to say something at the Oscars, too...)

Well, folks, that's all I have for this time out. a poster's note
for you fans of these posts: I won't be able to post an update for
the next two weeks because I'll be walking in the L.A. Marathon
on March 7th, and I'll working on some personal business for about
a week after that. I don't want to leave you Disney theme park fans
in the lurch for that long, though, so in my absence, may I suggest
you visit Kirby Bartlett-Sloan's "Disney Theme Park TV for
the Week" page at http://www.bartlett-sloan.net/tv? Kirby does
a great job of keeping up with the shows that are coming soon -
I use his page as one of my sources for these posts.
Hold on, someone's at the door. Hmm, a package for me?... let's
see... Hey, the Academy sent me an Oscar to make up for my missing
tickets! "Best Unauthorized Plug for the Academy Awards on
Usenet." Oh, there's a note, too: " 'Academy Awards' and
'Oscar' are registered trademarks of the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences. Please be sure to mention this in your post or

February
26 - March 8, 2004
Hello again, everybody!
It's my sad duty to report that I've failed you Disney theme park
TV show fans. We had a new sitcom on this week featuring DCL, and
I missed putting it in the listings last week! This is doubly embarrassing
to me, since an acquaintance of mine works on the show and told
me to watch for it. Oops. Sorry, folks. Well, all is not lost; as
always seems to be the case with sitcoms featuring the Disney parks
and resorts, the show's a two-parter, so if you happened to miss
this week's episode (like I did), you can still catch the conclusion
next week. If you just can't stand starting to watch in the middle
of a two-part episode, there's a repeat of another TV show's visit
to WDW from a few years ago coming up as well, so you can get your
WDW fix while you wait for this new program to reappear in reruns.
There's also a show on a cable network I haven't heard of before
featuring segments on Disney gardening and a couple of old favorites
on the Travel Channel. We've got a little bit of everything this
time, folks! Here's what's coming up. (As always, all times are
PST and all shows are on the Travel Channel unless otherwise noted.
Shows new to the listings are indicated by an asterisk {*} after
the show's description.)

luxurious suite, and joining a group of teenage hotel guests for
some wild rides at Disney's California Adventure.

you'll excuse me, I'm going to hide out someplace until my face
is no longer beet red from embarassment over the mistake I made.

Hello again, everybody!
Yeah, I know, I'm late again -- sorry, folks. To borrow a favorite
quote of mine from John Lennon, "Life is what happens to you
when you're busy making other plans", and life's been happening
to me in spades the last few weeks. Anyway, enough excuses. At least
I picked a good time of year to be so busy I can't post - there's
not much on TV right now. At least we get to see a little of WDW
on prime-time network TV, so it ain't all bad. Here's what's coming
up. (As always, all times are PST and all shows are on the Travel
Channel unless otherwise noted.)
A. Shows Taking Place at Disney Theme Parks
Thursday, February 5, 9:00 p.m., ABC: "Extreme Makeover."

Monday, February 16, 3:00 p.m., Oxygen: Roseanne - "Disney
World War II." Walt Disney World has a profound effect on Roseanne's
usually complaining brood.
Well, that's going to do it, folks. Not a whole lot on, is there?
Hopefully, we'll see a bit more programming in the future. Alas,
some more life is going to be happening to me pretty soon, so I
have to disappear for a little while; I won't be able to post an
update next week, but I should be back on the week on February 16th.
Until then, everyone have a good Valentine's Day and a safe and
happy President's Day weekend. Talk to you again soon. Until then,

Hello again, everyone!
Sorry for my temporary absence - had a "perfect storm"
