NEW DISNEYLAND FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
“REMEMBER… DREAMS COME TRUE”
PREMIERES DURING “THE HAPPIEST HOMECOMING ON EARTH”
Tinker Bell To Dazzle Audience With Dramatic New Flight
ANAHEIM, Calif., May 5, 2004 – To commemorate the golden
anniversary of Disneyland in grand style, Disney technicians, artists
and Imagineers have developed “Remember ... Dreams Come True,”
the most elaborate nighttime spectacular ever presented at the park.
The all-new fireworks extravaganza will premiere on May 5, 2005
with the launch of the Disneyland 50th anniversary “The Happiest
Homecoming on Earth” celebration.
Using the skies over Disneyland as its canvas “Remember…Dreams
Come True” illustrates the power of wishes and dreams and
incorporates state-of-the-art pyrotechnics, projection, lighting
and sound technologies, to amaze Disneyland guests as never before.
“We like to call it the ultimate Disney E-ticket in the sky,”
said Steven Davison, creative director, Disney Creative Entertainment.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to create a fresh,
engaging, awe-inspiring and truly epic nighttime spectacle.”
Hosted by everyone’s favorite “conscience”—Jiminy
Cricket, “Remember…” will begin with the wishes
of beloved Disney characters—including Cinderella, Aladdin,
and Pinocchio – told through dazzling special effects, soaring
music and brilliant fireworks. The first act of the show culminates
in a new and unbelievable appearance by Tinker Bell, reminiscent
of her flights of fancy from the familiar opening sequence of The
Wonderful World of Disney television series. “This acrobatic
aerial performance is truly groundbreaking and will reinvent Tinker
Bell for a whole new generation,” added Davison.
Tinker Bell’s dramatic new flight will open act two of the
show where the audience will be reminded of the wish that started
it all—Walt Disney’s dream of Disneyland, explained
in Walt’s own words using archival audio tracks. What follows
is an exciting and heart-warming
journey through the various lands of Disneyland—each to be
depicted through favorite
Disneyland songs, familiar phrases from some of the Park’s
most popular attractions and illustrated through the enchantment
of fireworks. “Remember ... Dreams Come True” will conclude
with a heart-tugging and unforgettable finale reminding everyone
of the timeless magic of Disneyland.
Premiering on May 5, 2005 “The Happiest Homecoming on Earth,”
an extraordinary celebration of the golden 50th anniversary of Disneyland,
will pay tribute to the millions of guests and Cast Members who
have contributed to the rich legacy of “The Happiest Place
on Earth” over the past five decades. The 18-month long occasion
represents the biggest celebration in the history of Disney theme
parks and is the first truly global Disney event (with commemorative
events planned at each of the Disney theme parks around the world
in salute to Disneyland).
