Disneyland Resort Pictures
The text list below contains the captions of all images in the set.
The Food and Wine Festival is still going on (through June 7th).
Here was a demonstration from the House of Blues
The Jr Chefs area, I keep missing the show...
Here is the California Wine Walk still located near the Tortilla factory
Work is progressing on the new dining location
You can see new props hung in the rafters
The Beer walk was not crowded so I took some pictures of the area
Heading out to the Pier. The Fun Wheel is now open.
The plants are still in pots around the walkways (wonder if these will go in or are just some temporary green)
The side of the dining area looks to be sealed up and painted now
More equipment is on the platform in the Bay
The new extension of the viewing area is starting to take shape.
Not much going on near the Orange Stinger
A wider shot
The control booths exterior is nearing completion
A closer loook of the platform does not reveal much
King Tritons has its new canopy
Looks like this has been sealed up
The rail system looks like its going to be growing.
A look under the bridge. A guest of the site wrote in saying he believes this is for the new wave machine.
The old wave machine has been removed
More track has been put in but still no signs of what will be going in/on it
The DVC units from inside the park
Here you can see they have put the bults into the concrete for more supports
The Fun Wheel is open
The entrance is now in the center of the wheel for both swinging and non swinging then you walk through a chain queue to enter the same queues as before.
Wait times are posted for both gondolas
The back of the sign..
Over at the Orange Stinger the wall now encircles the entire base
Looking over the wall it looks the same
Another of the structures has been sealed up (guessing these are light towers or show equipment towers, looking at the concept art I think there will be light houses on top
This area will be closing soon..
Another view of the viewing area
Only a few more days till this will be closed
Here you can see the new extension. They are installing the rebar.
A closer look
The walls are down and the new restrooms are open
A sign in front of the old restrooms
The new structure off to the side houses the ATM
A quick look inside reveals a fairly plain restroom
There is one new device.. the hand dryer on the left of this shot
The new pay phones
There are two companion restrooms
And a new set of drinking fountains (and the water was nice and cold Friday)
The old side (one last shot before it gets walled off and torn down)
Work on the forms for the new extension for the viewing area
Out by Screamin they poured the circular pads, not sure what will go there but seems to be support for something.
Back out to the Fun Wheel now for my first ride on the new version (same as the old really)
The non swinging line stretched a long way
The queue cover is more of less the same
The controls
Time to go up... some shots of the World of Color work
Looking under the tents
The new area where the Christmas tree usually goes looks to be in the final stages since concrete is being poured
Part of the Timon Parking lot is the staging area for World of Color stuff
Then in the far portion looks like some prep work is under way for Carsland (or at least moving pipes/etc..)
Back to the World of Color work
Where two platforms meet, there are three large platforms.
An attempt to get a wide shot of the platform
Piping/conduit going in the vewing area
The lights for the old Sun Wheel have been removed from Golden Dreams
And relocated to the restroom building for the Fun Wheel
Not much is visible in the walled off area next to Golden Dreams
A look at the DVC work from the Fun Wheel
The DVC work from the ground near White Water Snacks
Inside the Grand CA lobby more work is going on
Finally able to tell what they are doing.. they are replacing the wood floor
Out back now to see the work. They have leveled off the pool area
The supports for the covered walkway (I forget what they called it maybe arcade), are going in. This will be how you get from the lobby to the DVC units which are the far side of the wing).
The elevators are behind that glass if I remember correctly
For more shots of the work be sure to check out the Construction progress section Sunday.
Not much visible progress here.
A new sign is up on the small portion of the old Department 56 store
While on the monorail noticed a temporary A/C unit(or at least that is what it appears to be) connected to Indy.
Work continues on the monorail track in Tomorrowland (well the cover under the track really)
Also spotted some walls up near the store across from Alice
From Ground level.
The Astro Orbitor is being re-assembled and the paint scheme looks to be about the same
The walls are down around Pixie Hollow and the new fountain lights are installed
The Street Party rolled by while I was taking pictures of Pixie Hollow
Monorail Blue going by
Noticed a new flavor of icee
The walls in Fantasyland from Ground Level
Had a request for Donalds boat...
Goofy and Pluto were out for pictures in front of Goofys house
Peter Pan is closed for rehab
Something was up with the Columbia as there were a couple of maintainence CMs running on board. About 5 minutes later guests were boarding so it was a quick fix.
The new Harbour Galley menu is up
The Hungry Bear is closed for rehab
Spotted some painting going on but nothing else
Great to see Song of the South characters out in Critter Country
L Ornement Magique was closed
Kind of odd to have a sign for the Dream Suite that says private entrance and its behind the gate not in front where it would be more visible
Walls are still up in the park in Frontierland
Off to the Hub
Lights are up for the Gradnite events
Some better shots of the Astro Orbitor work
Last trip I missed the two new windows on Main Street so here they are...
A new sign was hung too
A couple better shots of the new fountain lights in Pixie Hollow
Over to DCA for the Up! Pre-parade. It runs about 10 minutes before the Pixar Play Parade
A slightly better shot of King Tritons than before
A couple random World of Color shots
Noticed a tarp up in Tomorrowland.
Thought it was interesting the arrow for the Pizza Port directed you toward Space Mountain and Honey I Shrunk the Audience vs the other way which seems like it would be less crowded...
The pit has been filled in, so I guess the fountains will be a thing of the past
Noticed this ODV cart moved around the corner from its normal location
There were some barriers up around the old location but no real signs of work
A couple random Street Party shots
The crowd after the Street Party
The line board around 7:00pm
Over to DCA, here is what Award Wieners has for the Food and Wine
A wider shot of the old Restrooms, do not think I included one earlier
Went for a ride on the Zephyr so here are a couple shots of the World of Color work from up there
The Fun Wheel entrance
As I mentioned earlier they have wait times for each gondola set now
The back side of the finished Fun Wheel
The lights were on King Tritons
Waiting for it to get darker so I can get pictures of the new lights on the Fun Wheel
The sun burst seemed brighter to me, maybe it has a spot light now too
Now a series of shots of the Fun Wheel
The fog was rolling in a bit so you could see the spot light from the Bay Area
